New Website Makes Donating Extra Items Easier

Arlington Heights residents have an opportunity to streamline getting rid of old items and local charities can connect easier with givers.

Do you have any extra items in your home that you haven't used in a while? But have no idea what to do with them. "Zealous Good," a new website is making your life easier and the donating process more impactful.

Instead of dropping off your extra items at a thrift store or Goodwill, you can donate items directly to charities' that have made requests.  

"Our main goal is to connect people and small businesses to local charities," said Megan Breehl, an expansion lead representative for Zealous Good.

The site is looking to get local charities on board. Charities can create a profile and request items they need through Zealous Good.

Tell all the charities you love or are involved with to create a profile on ZealousGood.com

The site's founder, Brittany Martin Graunke, wanted to find an easier way for charities to connect with donors and allow donors to donate without necessarily giving money all the time. 

For the past year Zealous Good has worked with more than 100 charities in Chicago and has matched more than $200,000 in donated items.

ZealousGood is expanding to the North, South and Western suburbs and help areas like Arlington Heights get more involved with their local charities.
