5” of Snow Greets 2014, 9 More Possible

National Weather service predicts Highland Park could receive another seven inches Wednesday and Thursday.

Unofficially five inches of snow fell less than a mile from the Deerfield Village limits between 4 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. today, according to measurements taken by Patch.

Another two to five inches of accumulation is forecast through today with two to four more of lake effect snow predicted between midnight and 4 p.m. Thursday, according to the national weather service.

Though the temperature climbed to 20 by noon today with a low of 19 expected tonight, it could plunge to one below zero Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Plows are out in Highland Park but the roads remained snow covered as of noon today.
