Board Examines Three New Businesses

Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, new downtown businesses get review from Village Board of Trustees Monday.

An examination of three new proposed Deerfield businesses, including Fresh Thyme Farmers Market at Cadwell Corners, will get a review and discussion from the Village Board of Trustees when it meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Village Hall.

The Board will determine whether to precede with special use permits for Fresh Thyme, Pure Barre Fitness Center and Gracie Barra Northshore Martial Arts Center. Pure Barre will fill the last remaining vacant space at Deerfield Square and Gracie Barra will be located on Robert York Road behind Deerfield Square.

All three projects have received a positive recommendation from the Plan Commission. Should these ventures gain approval Monday, the Village will draft ordinances for final approval.

Despite Fresh Thyme’s unanimous approval from the Plan Commission, residents of the adjacent Deer Run housing subdivision have not embraced the idea. There will be an opportunity for public comment on all agenda items Monday.

Also on the agenda is a potential final approval of a 248-unit apartment project near Lake Cook Road and the Tri-State Tollway. Developers hope to break ground by the end of the year if they get approval.
