Each December, Deerfield High School organizes School Chest, a three-week-long charity drive that captures the attention of students, faculty, and community members. This year's beneficiary, the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA), is a 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to providing sports equipment and programs for children and adults with physical or visual impairments.

Upcoming events include Deerfield Idol on Wednesday, December 11; Wapaghetti’s portion donation day on Friday, December 13; Claim Company portion donation nights from December 11-13 (donates 15% if customer brings flier from school chest website); Hoops for Hope on Saturday, December 14; and Deep Breaths for School Chest—yoga class on Saturday, December 14.  The events are open to the public.

The following week offers Mah Jong Night on Wednesday, December 18, and Mr. DHS on Thursday, December 19.

To find out more or to make a donation, please visit the school chest homepage by going to the DHS website at dhs.dist113.org and search for School Chest.

The Deerfield High School Dance program will be presenting their first semester dance class show on Tuesday, December 17, at 7:30 pm in the Auditorium. This is a great show for the whole family. There will be staff and student choreography in various different styles showcased. The performance is free of charge.

District 113 is excited to be partnering with its Educational Foundation to bring alumni back into an active Deerfield High School community, where they can stay informed on current programs, sporting news, fine arts events, distinguished graduates and reunion announcements.

Any DHS alum wishing to sign up for a Constant Contact newsletter, which will keep alumni up to date on current events at the school and include invitations to be a part of the community and the connections, can go to DHS.dist113.org and click on the alumni page to sign up. Let the benefits of being a graduate of a top-tier high school continue on!
