Homecoming Week Opens at Deerfield High School

Events planned all week leading up to Friday's football game against Glenbrook North.

Disney may be the theme but charity will be part of the mix as Deerfield High School celebrates homecoming this week.

Students painted giant pumpkins which went on display around the Village today and will be on parade at 9:34 a.m. Saturday at Deerfield Square. The student who designed the winner will choose which charity gets a $5,000 donation.

Before that, there will be plenty going on—a week’s worth of events—before the Warriors entertain Glenbrook North at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Adams Field in the annual homecoming football game.

The week started off Monday with a pajama day while on Tuesday students will dress like tacky tourists in a Disney theme. Sports will be the subject of the day Wednesday and Thursday will be devoted to a throwback idea. Students will be wearing red and gray on Friday.

The week long fun fest will not end when the clock ticks down to zero in the fourth quarter Friday. There is a dinner dance Saturday.
