Village Board Considers Future of Woodfire Building

The future of three new Deerfield businesses and the potential location of a fourth will be on the agenda when the Village Board of Trustees meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Village Hall.

The Board will act on a report from the Plan Commission which unanimously recommended substantial remodeling of the building at 360-380 Lake Cook Road which formerly housed Woodfire Chicken.

If the report is accepted, the Village will prepare an ordinance allowing the property owner, Charles Ifergan, to essentially rebuild the former restaurant on the existing foundation. With the Lake Cook Road construction project over, Ifergan believes the time is right to do the work.

When the Board approved a Plan Commission report to give a go ahead to Fresh Thyme Market Oct. 7, Mayor Harriet Rosenthal and some of the Trustees wanted some specific language in the ordinance to secure the rights of neighboring homeowners. The details of that ordinance will get a hearing Monday.
