Deerfield Talent Makes 'Secret Garden' Special

Four lead roles and lots of supporting cast from Deerfield give Deerfield Community Theater production local feel. Holiday gift boutiques abound in the Village.

“The Secret Garden” Opens

With four of the leading roles and a host of members of the supporting case from Deerfield for the Deerfield Community Theater’s production of “The Secret Garden” opening at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Caruso Middle School in Deerfield, there will be a very local feel.

Performances will also take place at 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Nov. 16, 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15 and at 2 p.m. Sunday and Nov. 17.

Miranda Singer will take the part of Mary Lennox, Reid Graham will be Colin Craven, the role of Alice will be taken by Sabra Gerber and Ashley Benson will play Jane.

Other Deerfield residents with parts in the show are John Benson, Julie Boyer, Claire Callistein, Amy Corday, Olivia Emerzian, Isabelle Fleming, Rosie Fleming, Claire Garrett, Jack Gordon, Lelia Greenspan, Leah Israel, Laura Klinger, Claire Metzger, Emma Pigg, Evelyn Procell, Jackelyn Samandas, Antonia Tpias, Josh Ticho and Kyla Wolski.

Get an Early Start on Holiday Shopping

Shepard Middle School will hold a book fair from 9m a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Barnes & Noble and a portion of the proceeds from purchases will benefit the school. The same is true for a number of other Deerfield Square merchants.

Don’t stop there. Grace United Methodist will hold its annual Fair Trade Gift Boutique from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday as well as from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. From there you can head to a Holiday Craft Boutique at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Lutheran Church in Riverwoods.

Pastel Exhibit Opens at The Art Center

Master works of pastel art, 90 altogether, will be on Display from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday through Jan. 4 at the Art Center in Highland Park. There will be a gala opening at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
