French Market Joins Pumpkin Invasion

A French Market will be part of the festivities as Deerfield’s Invasion of the Pumpkins enters its third weekend from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday in Deerfield Square and the surrounding area.

With the Farmers’ Market over the season, the action will swing to fresh produce, flowers and other retail goods with a French flavor from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the market’s regular location just east of the downtown railroad station.

After taking part in the market, there will be more food with Restaurants on the Square from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. when Shirley King and Blue Road start to entertain until 3 p.m. And, the day will end with a screening of “E.T. the Extra Terrestrial” at 7 p.m. There will be other family activities throughout the day.

 Warriors Finish Home Football Season

Deerfield High School’s football team will play its last home game of the year against Maine East at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Adams Field. A highlight of the evening will be the induction of four new members to the Warriors football hall of fame.
