Triple Halloween Fun Arrives in Deerfield This Weekend

Halloween Hoopla, Township Party, and Invasion of the Pumpkins highlight Deerfield weekend. Warriors close football season.

Halloween Hoopla Starts Friday

Halloween Hoopla featuring a haunted house—with lights on and off depending on time of day—hayrides and more returns to Deerfield from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 25 and from 3 to 9 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Jewett Park Community Center.

Depending on the time of day and your level of fright toleration, the haunted house will have the lights on or off with the scarier times at night. At night there will also be bonfires, movies, deejay entertainment and more.

During the day on Oct. 26, there will also be inflatable rides, balloon twisters, face painters and more. The event is sponsored by the Deerfield Park District and a complete schedule is available on the Park District website.

Pumpkin Invasion Enters Final Week

Trick or treating with Deerfield Square merchants will an added dimension to the Invasion of the Giant Pumpkins Saturday in downtown Deerfield. In addition to candy for the kids, there will be a pet parade, pie eating contest and more. There will also be a screening of “The Birds” at 7 p.m.

Township Offers Quieter Event

For a quieter time for special needs children, West Deerfield Township will sponsor a party at 1 p.m. Oct. 26 at Village Hall featuring pumpkin decorating, treats and games.

Have a Safe Halloween

Right after Monday’s Village Board meeting, Mayor Harriet Rosenthal made sure to remind everyone to have a safe Halloween.
