Update and Opinion: The DHS Circus Protest

A Deerfield student explains how the protest against Ringling Brothers turned out and what it means looking forward.

Although an AP Physics class did end up attending the Ringling Brothers circus Friday despite protest from a handful of dedicated Deerfield High School students, it seems their efforts will have some bearing on the future of DHS and the community at large. For three cold mornings in a row this group of students, with the support of art teacher Tim Bleck, stood by the entrance of the school with hopes of raising awareness while also understanding that stopping the field trip so late in the game would be an impossibility.
