Garrett Endorsement Kicks Off Morrison Campaign
Retiring state senator credits Morrison for keeping taxes low in West Deerfield Township.
West Deerfield Township Supervisor Julie Morrison officially started her campaign to replace retiring state Sen. Susan Garrett (D-Lake Forest) with Garrett’s endorsement before a crowd of more than 50 supporters Thursday at a Deerfield restaurant. No other democrats have declared their candidacy to seek the nomination to succeed Garrett in the March 20 primary. Highland Park pediatrician Arie Friedman has said he will run as a Republican. I checked Senator Terry Link's web site, www.senatorlink30.com, and could not find mention of Morrison or why Garrett stepped down.   more ›
