Jordan Abosch wins latest fundraising event for Deerfield High School School Chest.

Jordan Abosch is a mere finalist no more. Abosch was one of four finalists in the Deerfield Idol competition Thursday as one of the many events this month to raise money for LUNGevity through the Deerfield High School School Chest drive. Earlier: Gallery: Glantz Becomes Deerfield Idol When it came time to select Mr. D.H.S. Monday, the crown was placed on Abosch’s head. The big winner, as it was in the 5K race Dec. 2 and Deerfield Idol was LUNGevity. Each participant performed a talent selection in front of a full auditorium and then answered a random question drawn out of a hat in a contest modeled after a traditional beauty pageant. Gallery: Glantz Becomes DHS Deerfield Idol

Alexander Glantz won the Deerfield Idol contest Thursday but the big winner was LUNGevity, the School Chest’s charity.

A talent contest is often determined by the decibel level of the applause after each entrant performs but not at Thursday’s Deerfield Idol competition won by Alexander Glantz at Deerfield High School. Glantz did get the most votes and they were truly charitable. Earlier: DHS School Chest Hopes To Raise $100,000 As part of the School Chest which is raising money for LUNGevity through the votes did not come in the form of applause or ballot entries but in the form of money each student gives their favorite contestant. The funds go to the charity drive. There were 23 entrants in the contest entertaining in the first round, according to faculty advisor Ryan Rockaitis.
