Lake Cook Road Corridor Plan Moves Forward
Board votes on effort to boost Deerbrook area Jan. 22, downtown plaza slated for improvement and more.
A plan to amend the Village zoning ordinance to ease the way for retail development in the area around Lake Cook and Waukegan Roads got its first reading before the Village Board of Trustees Monday with a vote scheduled Jan. 22. The proposed ordinance will increase the size of a store still needing a special use permit, require a certain amount of retail use and exclude existing locations which do not lend themselves to stores or restaurants, according to the Plan Commission suggestions.
