Driver Uses Cell Phone, Gets Arrested

The following arrest information was supplied by the Deerfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Driver’s License Infractions  Martin Perez Valencia, 20, of Highland Park was arrested March 10 for driving without a valid license and driving while using a hand held cellular device, according to Deerfield Police reports.  Police observed Valencia operating a vehicle in the vicinity of Lake Cook and Deerlake Roads holding a cell phone by his right ear, according to the report. After making the stop, police discovered Valencia had no license. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 3 p.m. April 2 in Park City.  Gerson Gluck, 70, of Antioch was arrested March 11 for driving with a suspended license, according to Deerfield Police reports. Police Blotter: Construction Company Reports Missing Items

The following arrest information was supplied by the Deerfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Construction Site Theft  More than $1,000 worth of wire and equipment were reported missing from a construction site on Hackberry Road Jan. 2, according to Deerfield Police reports. Krause Electric contacted police who came to the site, according to the report. Officials of the company said 100 feet of copper wire and a voltage meter were missing.  Driver’s License Infractions  Hugo Beritan-Sanchez, 22, of Highland Park was arrested Jan. 2 for driving without a license, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding, according to Deerfield Police reports.  Police clocked Beritan-Sanchez driving 52 miles per hour in a 40-mile per hour zone in the vicinity of Waukegan Road and Chestnut Street, according to the report. Police Blotter: Driving Without Valid License

The following arrest information was supplied by the Deerfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Ricardo Ballesteros, 21, of Wheeling was arrested Oct. 1 for driving without a valid driver’s license, according to Deerfield Police reports.  Police spotted Ballesteros driving westbound on Lake Cook Road in the vicinity of Waukegan Road with no light above the vehicle’s registration plate, according to the report. Ballesteros explained he had a learner’s permit and not a license. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 3 p.m. Nov. 20 in Park City.. Juan Medina, 48, of Lake Bluff, was arrested Oct. 3 for driving without a valid driver’s license, according to Deerfield Police reports.  According to the report, police observed Medina driving southbound on Waukegan Road near Central Avenue with only one headlight …

Police Blotter: Police Find Driver With 'Barely a Pulse,' Arrest Him for DUI

The following arrest information was supplied by the Deerfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

DUI  Anthony Frank DiSilvo, 29, of Wauconda was arrested July 16 for driving under the influence after police found him slumped behind with the wheel of a parked car with “barely a pulse,” according to Deerfield Police reports.  Police spotted a car parked on the side of the road in the vicinity of Lake Cook and Deer Lake roads, drove around the block, saw the car still there and then performed a well being check, according to the report.  Police found a passenger fully reclined in the passenger seat and DiSilvo slumped in the driver seat. When the passenger and the officer tried to wake DiSilvo he was unresponsive and “barely had a pulse,” according to the report.
