Former Congressman restarts Facebook posts more than three months after loss to Brad Schneider.
What has former Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth) been doing since the Nov. 6 election? If his Facebook page is any indication, he returned to a public life in a virtual sense March 15 when he updated his profile photo, asked a question about the country’s future, got 35 likes and 55 comments. His previous post was made Nov. 6. Earlier: Schneider Beats Dold in 10th District Race “What should we be doing to leave our children a better and more prosperous America?” Dold asked his social media followers. Two days later Dold was at it again posting a photo from a 2012 St. Patrick’s Day parade he called one of his favorites asking people how they celebrated the day. On March 20, Dold gave a shout out to Wheeling High School Principal Lazaro Lopez…

A recent class action lawsuit amounts to $20 million for Facebook users.
You might want to check your spam. If you get an email with "Notice of Pending Class Action and Notice of Proposed Settlement," it could mean you're eligible for $10 from Facebook, according to Gizmodo. As part of a recent class action settlement, Facebook might distribute $20 million among users who were used in advertisements without consent, Buzz Feed reports. Eligible Facebook users need to fill out a claim form, but the settlement also stipultes "if the number of claims made renders it economically infeasible to pay money to persons who make a timely and valid claim, payment will be made to the not-for-profit organizations identified on the Settlement website at www.fraleyfacebooksettlement.com." The announcement this week that women would no longer be banned from military combat was a big talking point for Patch Facebook fans.
An announcement this week that women would no longer be banned from military combat got a rise out of Patch readers who shared their sometimes surprising opinions on our Facebook pages. "I think women should have the option. Not many will choose it, but I think saying that they couldn't isn't right." "It is a bad idea. Women need to stop trying to be men and men stop trying to be women. We are made different for a reason. To deny reality is to deny the truth. Women carry children. Do they really think it is okay to put innocence in combat situations? I swear women have been brainwashed by the liberal news media and have no logical brains left." "Absolutely a good step forward. The key here is everyone has to be trained and held to the same…

We asked, you shared. Readers were divided on what age they allowed their children to have a social media account.
Among social media sites, Facebook was the most popular with teenagers, according to a survey of about 800 teens by the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project. We recently asked readers: What age do you allow your kid to have a social media account, and we received mixed responses. Facebook is Unnecessary Some readers say they don’t allow their children to have a Facebook account. “It’s unnecessary, I wouldn’t let me child have a Facebook [account]. It would cause more harm than good,” Patch reader Melissa wrote. Patch reader BigMama wrote, “In hindsight I wish I had NEVER allowed my teenage son on Facebook. It's turned out to be a vacuous, distracting time sink.” High School, Age Appropriate Other readers say high …

McClown... You are racist...we merely mock you, as Walter did last night...and he did a very fine job of it too. Kinda hits the nail on the head actually. But...it's nice to know you had a "thought"...   more ›
