What has former Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth) been doing since the Nov. 6 election? If his Facebook page is any indication, he returned to a public life in a virtual sense March 15 when he updated his profile photo, asked a question about the country’s future, got 35 likes and 55 comments. State's Attorney Now on Social Media

To be more transparent and give citizens easy access to news and announcements, Lake County State's Attorney Mike Nerheim has launched Facebook and Twitter pages.

The Lake County States Attorney’s Office has officially launched its Facebook and Twitter pages. “In this era of the information age, these social media platforms are where so many government entities, businesses and individuals are increasingly getting their news, conducting their business, sharing their opinions, and living their lives. Facebook Sued Over "Like" Button

Rembrandt Social Media claims they patented the idea first.

Facebook is being sued for using the “Like” button, PRNewswire.com reports. Rembrandt Social Media has filed the lawsuit against the social media giant. Rembrandt is the patent holder of a feature created for Surfbook in 1998 that allowed users to “like” each other’s information. The lawsuit was filed in Virginia on Feb. 5, Mashable.com reports. Facebook recently settled a class action lawsuit worth $20 million for putting users in advertisements without their consent.

You might want to check your spam. If you get an email with "Notice of Pending Class Action and Notice of Proposed Settlement," it could mean you're eligible for $10 from Facebook, according to Gizmodo. As part of a recent class action settlement, Facebook might distribute $20 million among users who were used in advertisements without consent, Buzz Feed reports. Eligible Facebook users need to fill out a claim form, but the settlement also stipultes "if the number of claims made renders it economically infeasible to pay money to persons who make a timely and valid claim, payment will be made to the not-for-profit organizations identified on the Settlement website at www.fraleyfacebooksettlement.com."
