Schneider Tapped for Foreign Affairs Committee

10th District Rep. Elect Brad Schneider (D-Deerfield) may be only member of committee from Illinois.

Rep. Elect Brad Schneider (D-Deerfield) may be the only member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee from Illinois after being appointed to the panel today by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), according to a news release from her office. Unless the Republicans appoint a representative not currently on the committee, Schneider will be Illinois’s only representation on the panel. Rep. Don Manzullo (R-Rockford) is currently a member but will not be returning for another term in January. Earlier: Schneider Beats Dold in 10th District Race Working on foreign relations with members of Congress is nothing new to Schneider. Schneider, Dold Speak Out on Iran Red Line

Democratic challenger sees red over GOP attempts to politicize relationship between Israel and the United States.

Both Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth) and Democratic challenger Brad Schneider of Deerfield agree with President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Iran should not have nuclear weapons but are not in complete harmony on the approach. A day after the President told the United Nations General Assembly Iran will not be allowed to have nuclear weapons; Netanyahu drew a red line on a chart telling the same body military action should be automatic if the boundary is crossed. Earlier: Democrats’ Jerusalem Platform Plank Unifies Dold, Schneider Like the President, both contenders for the 10th District seat want all options on the table including the use of force. Dold wants a precise red line to keep Iran in check. Schneider…

We’re not quite at that http://www.coachfactoryoutletonlinebc.org stage yet. But we may be on the right path. Dold Answers Critics, Supporters at Town Hall

A conservative group organizes the meeting and progressives fill the room to protest.

A standing room only crowd of more than 100 people from all political persuasions peppered Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth) with questions about job creation, the Bush era tax cuts and the Koch brothers—David and Charles—at a Town Hall meeting Saturday in Vernon Hills.  The event was sponsored and heavily promoted by Americans for Prosperity (AFP), an organization founded by David Koch, according to the group's website. AFP is a grass roots organization devoted to lower taxes and less government involvement in America’s affairs, spokesperson Collin Corbett said.  In opposition to this philosophy, the meeting was also heavily attended by progressives, in large part organized by Americans United for Change and the Tenth Congressional District…

Pelosi, Plouffe Train Dold Opponents in Washington

National Democrats give local candidates some campaign tips.

Before Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth) was sworn into office in January, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) decided his 10th Congressional District seat was one it could win in 2012.  Nearly five months later, Ilya Sheyman, a community organizer from Waukegan, has formally announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination to oppose Dold. Bradley S. Schneider, a business consultant from Deerfield, has also expressed interest.  Last week they both went on an educational field trip with the DCCC. Special schooling from Plouffe, Pelosi Sheyman and Schneider were two of 34 congressional candidates to receive special schooling at a training session conducted by the DCCC in Washington. The national party has made the …

Pelosi didn't raise the minimum wage, it took a congress and senate to do that. You defend this woman, but what did she do to stop the mortgage crisis, or to stop liberally-controlled Acorn? This administration has been loaded with scandals and corruption that the dems simply ingored and continue to ignore. Take your nonsense to California.   more ›

Women's Progressive Group Puts Dold 'On Notice'

Emily’s List threatens to target freshman congressman in 2012 campaign.

Politics may have played as big a role as policy when Emily’s List placed Rep. Robert Dold (R-IL) on its "On Notice List" last week.  Emily’s List, a group dedicated to electing Democratic women to office, has named Dold among nine Republicans who it considers vulnerable to a female challenger and may allocate resources to defeat the congressman in 2012. The organization claims Dold's record is consistently “anti-woman” since joining Congress in January.  “The budget that Rep. Dold voted for included just about every anti-woman measure under the sun,” said Jess McIntosh, spokeswoman for the Washington-based group. “It would eliminate the family planning services women rely on to keep themselves and their families healthy.”  McIntosh's …
