Deerfield Church Welcomes New Pastor
Father Vince Costello celebrates first masses at Holy Cross.
Father Vince Costello recently accepted the position of parish pastor at Holy Cross Church, a community of about 6,000 in Deerfield. “I’m impressed by the warmth of the people and by the level of activity” at the parish, Costello said. “There seems to be a good spirit in the community.” Costello surprised the congregation by showing up to celebrate the recent Christmas Eve masses. He wasn’t scheduled to begin his duties until early January. “The parish needed some boots on the ground,” Costello said, explaining his desire to get to work at his new job.
