Only One Restaurant Open Christmas

Grocery stores will close at 6 p.m. Monday and be closed for Christmas Tuesday.

For those who may be procrastinating with plans for dinner on Christmas day, there will be but one opportunity in Deerfield but do not plan to go the grocery store after 6 p.m. today.  Rosebud, open from from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday appears to be the only option for those who wish to dine out, according to, the Deerfield Chamber of Commerce website. Grocery stores in the area including Whole Foods, Jewel, Dominick’s and Sunset Foods in both Highland Park and Lake Forest will close at 6 p.m. today and not reopen until Wednesday. Snack food deals abound at grocery stores.

With people in Deerfield planning Super Bowl parties Sunday, Deerfield residents have plenty of choices from buying an assortment of snack food and beverages and local grocery stores to catering their own event. Places like Dominick’s, Jewel and Whole Foods are offering promotions on snack food and beverages for those who want to do their own party from scratch. People can add baked goods, vegetables and dips to their platters. For those who want a fully catered affair, D.C.
