Some Deerfield merchants may be saving their best for Saturday, but some will have Black Friday offerings.
Deerfield shoppers wanting a Thanksgiving start to Black Friday had to leave the Village but anyone who wants an early beginning to Small Business Saturday can start today in Deerfield Square. Some merchants like Avenue Fashions are saving their best for Saturday and Sunday but others like B Friends, Footloose and Just Between Friends will start their holiday offerings when they open their doors today. Melissa Hafner of Deerfield is the winner of Patch’s Summer’s Last Hurrah Contest giving her $250 worth of gift certificates to use with five different Deerfield merchants. “I never win anything,” Hafner said when she got the call from Patch Friday. “I just took the picture at the Glencoe beach this week. This has been a great summer and I love reading Deerfield Patch.” Hafner was one of seven winners of individual contests held by Patch sites in Deerfield, Highland Park, Winnetka-Glencoe, Wilmette-Kenilworth, Evanston, Glenview and Northbrook. Customers and merchants call weekend event a success.
Shoppers were finding bargains at Deerfield Square’s annual Sidewalk Sale Thursday through Sunday and merchants were pleased with the event. At b friends, Mckayla O’Neal of Deerfield found three rings for $1, according to her mother, Lisa O’Neal. That section did particularly well, according to Ricki Goldstick. “The $1 table went real fast,” Goldstick said.
