Library to Pick Temporary Site by Early February

After approving a $12-million renovation project for the Deerfield Public Library in 2010, voters may know within a few weeks the location of its interim home. During its regular meeting Feb. 1, the library board is hoping to make a final decision between two spaces in Deerfield, according to Executive Director Mary Pergander. Every indication is that the Library Board (really a Village Board puppet show) is demonstrating total incompetence in conceiving and managing this entire renovation project. How much is this going to cost over-run the project which voters approved almost 2 years ago? Another case of too much government. Deerfield badly needs a tea party awakening.   more ›
