Food Pantries Gear Up for Holidays
Townships in Highland Park, Deerfield, and Lake Forest and beyond help feed those less fortunate.
A variety of opportunities are available for clients of food pantries in West Deerfield, Moraine and Shields Townships as Thanksgiving approaches Thursday. People who usually go to the West Deerfield Township Food Pantry will find a pumpkin pie and other “seasonal favorites,” in their bags, according to West Deerfield Township Supervisor Julie Morrison. “The people in Deerfield and West Deerfield Township are extremely generous,” Morrison said. “It is a wonderful time between now and Christmas. Those who have less are able to rely on the generosity.” The Pantry feeds those in need all year.
