The Lake County Sheriff’s Office announced today it will conduct special patrols this Super Bowl weekend cracking down on drunk drivers and seat belt law violators. “We are reminding everyone that if you choose to drink and drive in Lake County this weekend, you will lose,” said Sheriff Mark Curran. “If you plan on drinking alcohol while cheering on your team, pass your keys to a sober driver before the Super Bowl party begins. From a 120-inch television to bargains on food and drink, local establishments plan Super Bowl events Sunday.
Deerfield bars and restaurants are gearing up for Super Bowl Sunday with special promotions and a festive atmosphere to give people a place to enjoy the game among the company of their neighbors. Demetri’s Greek Restaurant will show the game on a 120-inch screen and offer free appetizers when the game starts at 5:15 p.m. according to owner Sam Marinakos. “They’ll buy their drinks,” he said. While Demetri’s will lure customers with free food, D.C. Sarnies plans to offer specials on both food and beverages, according to general manager Robert Lapata. “We’ll be offering $3 Miller and Bud bottles and half off our bar appetizers,” Lapata said.
