Residents Take Issue with Mail Deliveries in Area
Some worry about perceived disruptions in service, but postal spokesman offers reassurances.
Some residents in Deerfield are seeing changes in their mail delivery service, including different delivery times and carriers, as part of an ongoing route adjustment strategy of the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to battle challenging market conditions. But a few said they received no delivery at all on certain days last week. That particular issue has them concerned. “I’ve lived here for 20 years, and I’ve never had issues this significant,” said Holly Katz, a resident of Bayberry Lane in Deerfield’s southwest quadrant. Katz said she and her neighbors received no mail delivery on Thursday. She reported that no mail came to her house on Saturday either. We have been getting our mail between 6 and 7:30 at night when we used to get it a 10:00 am. Some days we don't get any mail and then the next day, it's double the amount. I wish the Post Office would get their act together.   more ›
