Carson’s Restaurant should have had an inkling the sign it installed over the summer to replace a damaged one would cause a problem with Deerfield officials. Carson’s got a strong rebuke from Mayor Harriet Rosenthal and the Village Board of Trustees Monday for replacing a sign in front of its restaurant on Waukegan Road in violation of Deerfield’s ordinance and ignoring the regulatory process. After the Appearance Review Commission retroactively denied the request, the Board unanimously denied Carson’s appeal at its regularly scheduled meeting Monday.
