Guildhall Serving Up Fine Dining in Glencoe

Executive Chef Christian Ragano brings a simple yet creative menu to downtown Glencoe.

Guildhall — an upscale restaurant in downtown Glencoe — opened it's doors last month to rave reviews. "Can I tell you how happy I am that Guildhall has opened in Glencoe," Yelp user Alex B. said on the user-review website, giving the restaurant five out of five stars. "Finally, a city-worthy dining destination here in my backyard." Yelper Jody B. echoed the same sentiment, giving it five out of five stars.  "Ok... maybe I'm giving it 5 stars (instead of 4) because there hasn't been a place this good to go for dinner in Glencoe in the past 20 years! Pasta Palooza Opens in Lake Bluff

New restaurant offers pasta in a casual setting.

Chicago restaurateur Mike Moore of Lake Forest decided to come home. After operating pasta and tapas eateries on Chicago’s trendy north side, Moore opened Pasta Palooza March 17 in downtown Lake Bluff. The restaurant, which is open from 11:30 a.m. through 9 p.m. daily, was full when we dined their Saturday. Not being a food critic, I will write only that we enjoyed our dinner but you, our readers, can be the critics. Go to the company’s listing on Patch and post your own review. We may just publish some of those critiques or do a summary. Get local news in a daily email from Patch. It's like getting a free newspaper. Chicago Restaurateur to Open Evanston Restaurant this Fall

Amy Morton returns to the restaurant scene after a 10-year hiatus.

Earlier this summer, a giant quote from Rudyard Kipling appeared on a boarded-up storefront in downtown Evanston.  “I’ve taken my fun where I’ve found it,” read the sign’s scrawled white letters.  The spray-painted saying was the work of Amy Morton, a longtime Chicago restaurateur and Evanston resident who is opening the restaurant Found at 1631 Chicago Ave. this fall.  Earlier: Bobby's Deerfield Plans Sumptuous Menu Morton took the sign down at the request of city officials, and while she doesn’t want to offend, she says the fact that it got noticed was also sort of the point. She planned to post a new quote every few days as the restaurant took shape, getting people excited about what was to come and giving them something to chew on—…
