Natalie Kaplan always liked to tell stories but never knew it would turn into a career one day. She first recognized her passion for journalism interning at a TV station in Detroit while attending the University of Michigan. After that it was all she wanted to pursue.
After college Natalie landed at WIFR in Rockford, Illinois. There she produced and reported for the local CBS affiliate for two years. Her next stop was WITN in Greenville, North Carolina. Natalie anchored the noon news and reported for the evening newscasts. While in Greenville, she earned an award from the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas for a series of pieces on Pit Bull attacks.
Natalie came to Patch in 2010 and launched the Deerfield Patch website. She is now the Communications Director for Township High School District 113 and a freelance journalist.
