Deerfield Braces for 54 Hours Below Zero
Schools close as City looks at wind chill advisory through 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Temperatures are expected to plunge below zero in the early morning hours Monday and are not expected to return to positive numbers before Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures could get as low as -19 before this latest bout of frigid arctic weather passes with wind chills dipping to as much as -33.
Schools are closed in Deerfield Monday and possibly Tuesday as well as the Deerfield Public Library and a number of Park District programs. A doctor from NorthShore University HealthSystem offers advice to avoid frostbite. A wind chill advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. Monday through 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Temperatures are expected to drop to four below zero tonight with a high of minus five Monday before plunging to 19 below Monday night. Wind chills could drop to -21 overnight and keep plummeting to 33 below zero during the day Monday. The high temperature Tuesday is predicted for two below zero with minus nine Tuesday night.
