Robert Vance Opens Saturday in Deerfield

Longtime men's clothier will offer custom shirt trunk show and plenty of sportswear.

After more than 40 years of catering to men’s fashions, Jack Shniderman of Deerfield will bring Robert Vance, Ltd. to his hometown when he opens Saturday in Deerfield Square.

The store is getting its finishing touches for Saturday’s opening this week after news of its arrival was announced in July.

With plenty of casual ready to wear merchandise displayed throughout the shop, there will be trunk shows the first two Saturday’s for the made to measure customer. On opening day, a representative of Individual Shirts will be there taking measurements for shirts starting at $120. “It goes up depending on the fabric,” Shniderman said.

The following Saturday, Samuelsohn Clothing of Montreal will be offering made to measure suits, sport coats and trousers. Suits begin at $1,295 and sports coats at $995, according to Shniderman.

There will also be plenty for the person browsing for casual clothing, according to Shniderman. “Our mainstay is our everyday sportswear,” he said. “That is how men are dressing today.”
