Trax: The Beer Is Fine

Beverages made with water like soda and coffee are not being served but the beer comes "straight from the keg."

Restaurants in Deerfield have been buying bottled water to wash vegetables and are not serving water, tea, coffee or soda during the Village's boil order, but there is no problem with beer.

"It comes straight from the keg," Trax Manager Jaclyn Boyd said.

Trax and other restaurants are doing what it takes to continue to serve their customers.

Trax has arranged to have a distributor bring ice to the restaurant and is not worried about washing dishes.

"It's hot enough in the dishwasher and there is so much disinfectant in all the soaps that go in the dishwasher that is's safe to use," Boyd said. "We checked this with the health department."
