Man Arrested for Beating Woman

The following arrest information was supplied by the Deerfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Domestic Battery 

Jose Torres-Gutierrez, 34, of Gurnee was arrested recently for domestic battery, according to Deerfield Police reports. 

After receiving a report of a domestic battery at a Deerfield hotel, police found the victim “visibly shaken, face swollen around the mouth, her inner lip was bleeding and she had red marks on her lower back,” according to the report. She said Torres-Gutierrez hit her after an argument. He fled in a car, was located and placed in custody. He was being held pending bond.

Possession of Cannabis and More 

Jose Martinez, 21, of Wheeling was arrested August 26 for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Deerfield Police reports. After observing Martinez in the Deerbrook Mall parking lot, police questioned him, smelled cannabis and found it after a search. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 15 in Park City.

Drivers License Infractions and More 

Lynne Cole, 51, of Hoffman Estates was arrested for driving without a valid license and using a hand held cell phone in a construction zone, according to Deerfield Police reports. Police observed her talking on the hand held cell phone in the vicinity of Lake Cook and Waukegan Roads. After stopping here, police discovered she did not have a license. She was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 3 p.m. Sept. 17 in Park City. 

Ryan Deryke, 33, of Chicago was arrested August 28 for driving while license suspended, illegal transportation of alcohol and using a hand held cell phone in a construction zone. After stopping Deryke while talking on a hand held cell phone in the vicinity of Lake Cook and Deer Lake Roads, police discovered he had open alcohol in the vehicle and had a suspended license. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 3 p.m. Oct. 15 in Park City.
