Men Say They Were Robbed, Then Arrested for Theft, Themselves

The two men confronted another man who they believed stole an iPhone and then were arrested for stealing that man's laptop.

Deerfield police arrested two men for theft March 7 after the men confronted a man they believed had stolen an iPhone from one of them, according to an article in the Deerfield Review.

Hatim Lotfy Jamil Allaf, 23, and Mark Anthony Harris, 19, tracked down Allaf’s phone to the Walgreens at 780 Waukegan Road, where they confronted a man they believed had stolen it, the article says. Witnesses called police who were told by the third man that his laptop was missing. Police said they found the laptop in Allaf’s car, along with prescription pills and marijuana.
