Apartment Complex Receives Initial Approval

In other board action Monday, supporters of the proposed Woodview Development, a 260 apartment complex on the southwest corner of Deerfield Road and I-94, had their preliminary development plan approved by trustees. The idea had received an OK from the plan commission in May. A final plan is likely to have some tweaks as trustees expressed concerns about the amount of parking. An amended proposal would likely come back before both the plan commission and village board later this year.

However, since the land that is not completely in Deerfield, annexation issues remain in play, separate from the development side of the deal. A final annexation agreement needs to be submitted to the village board.

If all facets of the project win approval, construction could start before the start of 2014.
