Storm Update: All Deerfield Roads Open, Water Subsides

Village works to clear debris and standing water.

All Deerfield roads are now open after Thursday’s flooding and river conditions have stabilized with no further flooding anticipated, according to a news release today from the Village.

Conditions in the West and Middle Forks of the North Branch of the Chicago River have stabilized with no further widening or flooding anticipated, according to the release.

Standing water and debris from the flooding remain in some roadways and Village officials advise caution when traveling, according to the release. The Department of Public Works will be clearing debris throughout the day today.

Storm water is still flowing into reservoirs at a slow rate and most reservoirs have remaining capacity. Village treatment facilities are operating as intended.

For people with damaged carpet, they can place it curbside for next week’s refuse collection, according to the release. It should be cut into four-foot bundles.
