Deerfield Makes ‘Most Challenging High School’ List

DHS ranked as the 35th most challenging in Illinois.

Deerfield High School ranked 35 on a Washington Post list of the state’s most challenging high schools. Nationally it is ranked 1,091. Fewer than 10 percent of high schools nationally made the list.

That’s lower than it’s been the past few years on the same list. Last year, it was ranked 20 in Illinois. Highland Park High School ranked 19 this year.

The ranking uses the number of college-level tests given at the school divided by the number of graduates.
