DHS Football Team Shuts Down Zion-Benton

Deerfield High School won the football season opener 15-0.

The Deerfield High School Warriors waited an extra day to start the football season, and then defeated Zion-Benton 15-0 in the rescheduled game Saturday.

The game, which was supposed to happen Friday night, was rescheduled due to weather.

Zion-Benton was inside the Deerfield 20-yard line three times, but was shut down, according to High School Cube News. Landon Hinds ran for two touchdowns, and defensive back Michael Puccio accounted for two interceptions.
