Farmers Market Offers More Than Food

Midwest farmers offer their crops, crowd gets to enjoy music and hear about worthy causes.

Deerfield’s Farmer’s Market is as much about community as it is about fresh produce, lots of flowers and other food items, according to Market Manager Joan Reed.

There are plenty of Midwest farmers offering their freshest crops as well as cheese from Wisconsin, meat, poultry and baked goods but there is more.

Reed brings in entertainment each week as well as giving local organizations an opportunity to share their message. This week, Deerfield resident and Case Western Reserve University student Andrea Sterenstein was telling people about USCCMAF (U.S. Children’s Medical Assistance Fund), a charity she started.
