Truck Remains Part of ‘Three Guys’

Three Guys and a Truck finale winds up with a truck after all.

When Three Guys and a Truck made its final appearance to benefit the West Deerfield Township Food Pantry Sunday, there was no plan to use a truck as people came to the Township office to donate food.

In the end there was a truck. The Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District came to the rescue.

The department donated a ride on a fire truck as a silent auction item and the beneficiary of the donation was Kyra Barany. She got her ride and brought along friends Grace and Sam Alex. The adventure started when the truck arrived at Kyra’s home.

“They toured the engine, and sprayed water from the fire hose after getting a lesson how the fire pump aboard the engine works,” Deputy Chief Ray Larson said. “They then toured the streets of Deerfield in the reserve piece of equipment.”

There was a special thrill when they reached Wilmot Elementary School which Kyra, Grace and Sam attend. The entire third grade was out to meet them when they were dropped off for class.
