Program in Amherst MA accepting applications through mid-March; students who get in will have many expenses paid for.

Teens wanting to steep themselves in Jewish culture can explore some of the most influential and essential works of literature during a week-long program this summer in Amherst, MA.

Applications are being accepted for Great Jewish Books, a new free summer program offered by the Yiddish Book Center, located on the campus of Hampshire College, in Amherst MA.

From July 29 to Aug. 5, juniors and seniors will read, discuss and argue over influential and essential works by such authors as Franz Kafka, Sholem Aleichem, Philip Roth, Isaac Babel and Grace Paley. Students will meet Allegra Goodman and other contemporary authors, study with literary scholars and connect with other teens from around the country who care about Jewish culture.
